MLSE I WANT 2 THINGS PLEASE
Jack Armstrong Next Season A Playoff Series Win
Yesterday Doug Smith in the Toronto Star joined the growing group of people that said
JACK ARMSTRONG IS PART OF MY RAPTOR BASKETBALL
If you missed it take a minute and read Doug’s Blog from Yesterday. I have had the honor of being posted in this blog once and had my comments posted several times. Here was what I said to what I read:
Hello Doug:
I started writing a blog this year and have contacted you many times through the season. My blog does not pull in the folks yours does. So I am so pleased that you have taken up the Jack Armstrong Fight. I mentioned this a few times in my Blog. I had wrote a blog based on Jack before these events came to light. I was so proud of it I attempted to get it to him so he could see how I felt. Thanks to Eric Smith( No Realation Right?) it got to him. How I know this is a got a kind e-mail from Jack himself. I since have kept in touch with him. I can say that the man I have watched on T.V for years was just as nice a person in my contact with him as the guy on my T.V screen. Having worked in the Media myself a little I know that is not always the case as do you I am sure. So I just wanted to say you did a GOOD THING Doug Smith. You once said that to me in my efforts to support T.J after his accident and now I am returning the favor. I am hoping we all can make a difference but like you I am not very confident we can. But the fact people like you have made a point to rallly support to this at least gives it a shot. If not for this being done many folks would turn on T.V’s next season and SAY WHERE IS JACK and by then it would be to late.

Part of why I write a blog is because I love basketball, the media and the Toronto Raptors. But if this blog can do good for someone or something I am all for that. Jack is a great person and has entertained myself for 10 years now. I want that to continue and that is why I continue to keep this topic going. Doug invites you to contact MLSE and have your say. I encourage that as well. But I would also encourage you to support something I started that I think may have just as much impact if not more if enough do it.
The Score is the network that will carry the most games as they did this season. The Score on there website has a thing called the BULLHORN. I use it to promote this blog. But I also did it to support Jack through my Podcast site. I posted the podcast on The Score Bullhorn. To show your support for Jack I am asking you to sign up at The Score Website it takes a couple minutes. Then click on this THE SCORE NEEDS JACK ARMSTRONG once there vote for this post and leave comments on why you want Jack on The Score. I never ask much from my readers. But this I am asking you to do because of my great love of Jack as a person and of his work. So I hope you will take the time to do so and hopefully someone hears us all.
Ok with that being said on to the Raptors and the season finale that thankful has zero drama. Chicago scored 151 points against the Bucks on the night the Raptors clinched 6th. It was not going to be easy to get a win over the Bulls. Add in the Fact Sixers end the season playing the Bobcats it could have been a very bad outcome. But thankful the only thing the Raptors need to worry about on this night is keeping everyone healthy. A win would be nice to say Raptors had back to back winning seasons but that and 1.50 will get you a Tim Hortons coffee.
The Orlando Magic closed out there season last night with a win over the Hawks. The Magic are playing the DISRESPECT card. But let’s get serious it is not disrespectful for the Raptors to want to play the Magic for the Following reasons:
- Bosh has always out played Howard in his NBA Career
- The Raptors have huge point guard advantage in this series
- Magic have little to no playoff experience
- Boston and Detroit are far better teams then Orlando
- Raptors understand that DISRESPECT cause they had it last year(AND LOST)
I understand it is the playoffs and teams seem to need to invent some kind of motivation. But let’s get serious it is the playoffs do you honestly need any motivation beyond the fact your season is on the line. If you do I have news for you the playoffs will not be long for you. In simpler terms you are going to be going home very soon.
The entire Eastern Conference is set as of Monday:
- #1 Boston vs #8 Atlanta
- #2 Detroit vs #7 Philly
- #3 Orlando vs #6 Toronto
- #4 Cleveland vs #5 Washington
So no excuses to anyone in the east for not being prepared. The West has the 8 teams figured out but the Match-ups still need to get figured out. Tomorrow I will do that dreaded thing for any Media Member Or Internet writer that is perdictions. I am on the record for Raptors in 6 already though. For the rest of them come back Tomorrow. That in the media is called a hook. Leave you with a reason to come back. But given my performance in our NCAA POOL maybe not.
One last thing I should mention. Yesterday I added a bunch of links for you all. They include facebook groups I am active in, websites I like and some other blogs. I want to make this blog like a home base for you all. I don’t mind if you read other folks in fact I encourage you to do so. If you have a site or Blog you think people would enjoy send it my way at Dinonationblogger@hotmail.comif I agree it will get listed. Please keep them basketball related. Unless you are advertising with me it needs to be basketball realated. Tomorrow we will dig in for the Playoffs. We still will have the Raptor Rewind tonight even though I imagine there will be good lot of playoff talk mixed in. I am pleased the transtion to this new site has been fairly smooth and without much trouble. Thanks to all of you for following the Dino Nation Blog to where ever it ends up. I know a few of you have been on board from the early days. I promise if there is a next move it will be to our very own website. But that is something I am not focused on right now. THE PLAYOFFS are here there is no time for that.
