Paul Eyes Conference Finals
How bout them Hornets!!! One win away from knocking out the defending Champs. It is exciting times in the Big Easy. David West has played huge all year for the Hornets and he and Chris Paul both made it to the All Star Game in New Orleans. Could the Hornets host the Finals as well? I don’t think we are to that point yet but it is exciting times for the Hornet Franchise. The have never made it to a Conference Final even back in the Charlotte days. They are just 1 win away from making that happen. But a tough win it will be to get. The funny thing about this series is their have been no close call games. One team has been the clear winner each game of this series.
Meanwhile the Celtics are at home so they will win tonight or have won already depending on when you are reading this. I can’t figure the Celtics at all. James goes off in game 5 and helps the Cavs win tonight the Celtics could be in trouble. Despite Lebron’s lack lustier first 4 games. My predication of Cavs in 6 would look awfully good with a win in Game 5. Pistons are already done and they hope Chancey Billups will be ready to go to play the winner of this series. Pistons have had quite the run of Eastern Conference Finals appearances. But they only have one Title(Belt) and that is not that good considering how close they have been for so many years.
Lakers meanwhile will look to get back on track after a tough loss to the Jazz. Hopefully Kobe is running closer to 100% than he was the last game. Kobe is the key despite whatever fuzzy warm feeling he has developed towards team play. Jazz need a road win in this series and I am thinking they don’t get that in Game 7 so it is now of never for the Jazz.
The Raptor Soap Opera off season marches on. Today as the Raptors Turn. Did the phone ring in the Suns Offices? Did Steve Kerr answer the phone or was he hiding under his desk? Did Colangelo ask the question? Was Sam Mitchell golfing when he did? The Answer is NO. The Raptors did not talk to Suns and ask to speak with D’Antoni and get rejected. Could I be wrong? Maybe but if Doug Smith says something didn’t happen I trust him to know what is going on. He has been covering this team since day 1 that is good enough for me. Besides it doesn’t make sense that the Suns would reject the Raptors request and accept the Knicks and Bulls. Bryan Colangelo did not leave the Suns on bad terms. The owner wanted Steve Kerr as his G.M so Colangelo stepped out of the way and got a truck full of money to relocate to Toronto. How is that whole Steve Kerr for Colangelo thing working out by the way? Owners need to let people that know basketball make the basketball choices. Mark Cuban has made mistakes getting to involved in Dallas and it is another example of over owning. But when you are the owner and a billionaire you can tell me to shut up for a small fee. I mean what is pocket change for Mark Cuban? I would like to find out.
In the land of REAL RAPTOR news. Jamario Moon was signed to his extension to his contract and good for Jamario Moon. Yesterday many feel he was screwed out of 1st team honours but I have a feeling that new contract mean much more to a guy like Moon who has finally found a home in the NBA. For a guy that was a basketball version of a traveling circus that means far more than any award or honour. Jamario Moon is also the first one to be safe in the Raptor off season game of Swing man Survivor. Kapono, Delfino and Parker are all in the mix to be voted off the island. I think sadly the first to go will be Carlos Delfino. He just was not consistent enough to take a chance on resigning.
So that is about it for today short and sweet. If this was a real soap opera it would close like this:
So ends another day in Raptorland…Tune in tomorrow When T.J Ford writes a Blog firing back at Jose. Chris Bosh gets acting tips from Terrell Owens. Sam Mitchell golf’s with special guest star Michael Jordan. Plus the miracle operation is performed on Andrea Bargnani that actually makes him able to rebound. All this on the next edition of as the Raptors Turn. I HATE THE OFF SEASON. People have far to much time to come up with B.S. Myself included after that ending.
