Actually, Shaquille O'Neal had Toronto on his list of teams he would play for a few years ago during the Vince Carter era.

Jermaine is just happy to get to a place that can afford his contract. Simple as that. If he loves the city and the opportunity the team presents, if he stays healthy he re-ups at the end of his deal at 1/2 his current contract so the team can reward Bosh and bring on more talent. If he doesn't, he just cares about himself.

For Carlo, not to get political but I had wrote before about politics a bit. I encourage you if you are old enough to vote go out and vote. It is important and despite the fact I am less than impressed with the folks running for Prime Minster I still will go out and have my say. I encourage you all that have the right to do so get out and do it. It is the only voice you have in how this country is run.

For Sebastian I really am not a big numbers guy. Scott Carefoot who writes the Raptorblog (which you can find in my person favs on the main page.) is more of a stat guy than me. But to me if Andrea gets 15ppg based on the amount of minutes I expect him to play I personally would be happy. I think I said in a recent blog Andrea will be a case of less is more. What I was getting at is saying that I think we will see more production out of Andrea with less time on the floor. He is still going to see his share of minutes but more of those will be against second team players for the other side.

I don't think it is as simple as all of that. It is for sure #1 on the list. But the impact he will have on the team around him is also a factor. Does he help Andrea Bargnani develop? Does he make Chris Bosh a better defender? Can he help the overall Defensive Scheme of the Toronto Raptors? It is key for him to stay healthy but he can have impact on a lot of things indirectly.

Injured Jermaine = bad Jermaine
Healthy Jermaine = good Jermaine

It's as simple as that. Hopefully he stays healthy.

I think I might understand Jermaine now. He was never the villain after all and he can be affected by things around him more easily than others. He had Reggie Miller on his team as the "leader/guru", and that was why the Pacers were a great team at that time.
I knew Jermaine cannot lead a whole team since around 2001 till now, but provide the team with tons of talented defensive and scoring muscle if he has a good leader and a good coach (Carlisle and Reggie took him to "meaningful" playoff games, not Isiah Thomas and Fat Tinsley).
My view on the brawl, he only wanted to get SJax and Cuckoo Artest out of the Palace, and that "punch" on that fan was an act of self-defense (cause that fan could of brought a knife considering how bad The Palace security was).
Besides his injury(s) and having the Malice @ the Palace over his head, can he try operating as a basketball player his teamates (minus Artest then) went to strip clubs and shot at ppl, attracted drive-by shootings, drink and drive, open rape-parties, solicit sex with prostitutes more than once, have gun possession, smoke enough Hash that makes Bob-Marley jealous, and end up fat and slow instead of going to training camp (%50 of these offences come from Tinsley)? I can't concentrate or even work if my ppl I work with did that in their spare time, and I would feel worried and uninspired for sure. Vince Carter had teamates with clean rap-sheets (I do question C. Oakley tho LOL) and he had no reason to be uninspired, but he was a lazy piece of crap anyways and led to him leaving the team.

Hope the best for J.O'Neal here in TO, he'll find a way to grab his share of rebounds (I want tons of offensive rebounds), and take a large load off Bosh's shoulders. I will see you guys in Edmonton Rexall Place cause I moved here, but I still got a Bosh jersey with me.
