So no one expected the Raptors to go 82-0 did you? So the fact they lost last night is not the point they were going to lose at some point. But the fact they are getting a beatdown from Tayshaun Prince and Rodney Stuckey is not exactly a good thing. It would appear it was not rocket science that was making it happen. I have this opinion based on the comments of Jose Calderon:
Jose-They were running almost the same play almost every time. We could not stop Tayshaun Prince. We’ve got to keep learning. They have a pretty good team; they have been playing together for a long time. I think it was our worst game, but we had a chance to win so that is the positive thing about it.
That does not sound good to me. The fact the Raptors did get back in the game was encouraging but still. They never broke through and made the shot or play to take the lead. They were close in theory but the Pistons were able to answer and make shots when they had too. The Raptors not so much.
Big Nate Speaks
In case you missed it. Eric Smith talked at halftime last night with Nathan Jawai. Still no word on when Nate is going to return. He has still not been cleared to return to practice. He unlike Allen Iverson would be thrilled to practice at this point. Here is a link to conversation with Eric Smith

Dino Blogger’s Hoops Debut
It is time for another season of Hoops on the Fan 590. Your Dino Blogger will be a regular caller like have been for years. I am James from Hamilton. I Actually asked Eric if I could use the Dino Blogger thing when I call in. He was not a fan of the idea. He said if I let you do that we would be getting calls from Raptors HQ in Toronto and so on. No offense to Raptors HQ. But I guess he is right. Maybe someday I’ll have a show and can let people promote stuff. A guy can dream. Hoops hits the air at 7pm.
Obama Mania
Is there anyone not talking about Barack Obama. I mean everyone in NBA is excited like the rest of America and the world. It is great to see considering I think everyone in the NBA does indeed make more than 250,000 dollars and under Obama as President they will pay higher taxes. Chris Webber needs to look into that before he starts worrying about Canada’s taxes. I love ya C-Webb because you went to Michigan. But shut up about things you know nothing about. If you don’t people will start to ask if you paid taxes on that booster money from Michigan. But back to this whole topic of Obama. I think pro sports world has been amazed by this happening. When guys like CB4 are in amazement it makes you see that they no matter the salary they make our in the end people like you and me.
Hit The Road Raps
The first extended road trip of the year. The Raptor express will be making stops in Atlanta, Charlotte and Boston. This will be a challenging trip. Most people would say that Raptors will take 2 out 3 on this trip. But those first two games will be challenges as both the Hawks and Bobcats have some athletic guys that can cause trouble. Joe Johnson and Jason Richardson are able to play just as well as a Tayshaun Prince did last night. Jamario Moon needs to be better and he needs to understand that the main reason he is out there is his defensive play.
While Boston has had a few stumbles out of he gate and not looked as dominate as they did at the start of last season. The Raptors will be playing them on second half of a back to back. But the Raptors our playing in the afternoon on Sunday in Charlotte so it is not the traditional back to back. The one thing they must avoid is looking past the Bobcats. One thing I can say is that we will know a lot about this team after this road swing.
