Dino Nation Blog History
The History of The Dino Nation Blog
Dino Nation Blog is written by James Borbath(Dino Nation Blogger). A proud grad of Mohawk College in Hamilton Ontario in 2001. Due to family concerns he was forced into putting his media career on hold. Always a fan of basketball and the Toronto Raptors since the team first came into the NBA, He decided to create the Dino Nation Blog which gave him a chance to work from home and still stay involved in the media in a way. The blog itself started on Facebook and has had several homes till it got to WordPress. It has been supported from it’s roots by Raptor Fans from various groups as part of Facebook. In it’s short history it has already appeared on Raptors.com as part of the Webshots section, been on Georgetown Basketball site, AltRaps.com and many other places. It also has had people in Raptors media help provide info for it’s readers. Jack Armstrong, Eric Smith, Paul Jones and New Raptor Play By Play voice Matt Devlin have helped out when called upon. The Blog is always looking to bring you not just the Opinions of the Dino Blogger but from experts and media people as well.
The Dino Nation Blog has always tried to do what it can to make it clear OUR READERS MATTER. Dino Nation Blog Chat events are the latest thing we have done in an attempt to connect with the readers. The goal of Dino Nation Blog is not just to be something you read but something you feel a part of. That is our Goal each and everyday.
Recently the Dino Nation Blogger has started to write for T.O Sports as well as keeping the Dino Nation Blog running. The hope of doing this is that it will allow more folks to become aware of the Dino Nation Blog and at same time more exposure never hurts. It is a welcomed chance to write elsewhere when offered to do so. I hope it is a successful partnership for both parties.
What is in the future of the Blog no one can say for sure. But it will always stick to it’s roots. Be honest and do the best it can to entertain and inform all Raptor fans. The Dino Blogger is not just a fan and not just someone that knows the media and basketball, he is both and tries to use that to provide an interesting take on Toronto Raptors Basketball. It is a great thrill and humbling experience to have each and every person that reads this blog take the time to make it part of their day. It has been a great joy to make so many new friends through this blog.
On July 31st 2008 the Dino Nation Blog has now gone .com, it is a big step that hopefully leads to more people finding the Dino Nation Blog and becoming part of the growing number of readers we have.
So Thanks to everyone that makes the Dino Nation Blog what it was, what it is, and what it will be. There is no limits put on this blog in an attempt to make it bigger and better. It is not always perfect but it is always working to that goal. So thank you for being a part of it.
If you are a long time reader of the Blog feel free to add comments on what you think of the Blog for new readers that might be checking this out.

Hi James,
I’ve been viewing your blog regularly over the past month and am impressed by the evenhandedness of your writing and the depth of your coverage. Quite impressive for a one-man operation. My one suggestion would be that you should try and contact sources outside of the Raptors brass to provide additional insight into your analysis (i.e. Evaluating the trade for Jermaine O’Neal). This may help to separate you from the media hordes and make you appear to be more “legit”, rather than just another blogger with an opinion.
Anyways, keep up the great work and I’m forwarding the link to your site to 8 of my friends who are die-hard Dino fans. Take care.

Thanks I enjoy what I do and agree with what you are saying. That is why I work hard to bring guest to this blog. I go out of my way to point out I am not a basketball expert. I am someone that knows the game and I work hard to make this blog interesting.
Contacts I have even if they are connected to the Raptors are still great people to hear from. But I do when given the chance step outside of that. When I did a blog on Roy Hibbert who ended up a Raptor Ironically, but prior to that talked with a writer from the Washington Post that covered Roy in College. Also in searching for Nathan Jawai I went to Australia for info on him. So when chances to do those thing come along I attempt to do so.
It does not always work out but I am always making attempts to bring more people to the blog. But I am very grateful to the regular folks we do have like Jack Armstrong, Eric Smith, Paul Jones and now Matt Devlin. It is great to hear from them. I try to bring out info I feel Raptor fans want to know when I talk with them.
Thanks for the Kind Words and Ideas
James

Hi James, I’m an old fan of basketball — way back when the Lakers, Celtics and Sixers were forces to be reckoned with. Among the three of them no one seemed to be able to stop them. These days, as a mom, all I have time for is watching the odd Raptor game and, if I’m lucky, will get tickets. My parents are avid fans of the raptors and basketball, in general and they never tire of it.
I’ve just started following your blog posts and it seems you have a firm authority on this stuff. I see even Cuzoogle is following you.
At some point in time I’d like to contact you, if you don’t mind since you are a Canadian who is passionate about the sport. In this predominantly-hockey country, it’s nice to see that the basketball/Raptor fan base will not allow it to go by way of the “dinosaur”, excuse my terms. Thanks, Hessie Jones
